Hi everybody!
Yes, most of us like spring or summer because we are on holiday.
There’s no class and we have more free time
to go with our friends. The
weather is sunny and hot and we can
go to the swimming pool or to the beach.
Nacho likes the summer because he
can go to Alicante. He can see
his family and his dogs.
Andrea likes the autumn because the leaves
in the trees have different colours: orange, brown, yellow…and the weather is still warm and nice.
Manuel also likes summer. He goes to France and to the beach.
María likes summer, too. The
weather is hot and sunny. And she also likes the summer because it’s the
season when
her birthday is.
Almudena also likes summer for similar reasons.
What about me? I like hot, sunny
and dry weather. I like the summer because it’s when I have more free time
to spend with my family and friends. But when you get older you like all the
seasons because you see something good in each of them.
Autumn,
(the fall, in American English) is really
nice because the leaves have different colours.
Winter is cold. (I don’t like cold weather, but I
like the days when it snows and I enjoy Christmas very much)
And, of course, spring. At that time days start getting longer and the weather is warm. Flowers bloom, (appear)
and everybody
looks happy!

Remember:
“What do
you do?” It’s the same as “What’s your job?”
But we are going to use “What do you do?” because it’s more common in
English.

She’s an acrobat.

He’s a
chef.

She’s a
secretary.

What does he do?
He’s a
vet. (Vet is short for veterinarian)
Remember
to use “a”, “an” before jobs. Only in singular. “A” before consonant; “an”
before a vowel sound.

work? An acrobat works in the circus.

For homework, write at least five lines
describing one or two jobs. Only one or two jobs; not five jobs. The example doesn’t count as one!
She is a nurse. She works in a hospital. She wears a uniform and she helps people.
She works long hours. She doesn't perform operations.
